In order to guarantee the regular flow of the fluid through the fitting, the internal diameter, in any section of the tee, must be at least 70% of the internal diameter at the ends.

Out of roundness: The out-of-roundness (0) shall be calculated in percentage, using the following equation: 0= (Dmax-Dmin)/Dx100, where: Dmax = max. outside diameter D, measured in the same plane, in mm; Dmin = min. outside diameter D, measured in the same plane, in mm; D = specified outside diameter, in mm. For fittings of outside diameter D ≤ 406,4 mm, out-of-roundness, shall be included in the limits of the diameter. Wall thicknesses are in mm. Type A fittings have the same wall thickness at the welding ends than a pipe having the same specified wall thickness. Their resistance to internal pressure is, in general, less than that of a straight pipe with the same dimensions. Type B fittings showing increased wall thickness at the body of the fitting, are designed to resist the same internal pressure as a straight pipe with same dimensions. The wall thickness at the crotch zone (Tc) is at least the mean of the wall thicknesses of run and branch (Tc min ≥ (Ts min + Tb min) / 2).
